oh Kiely… we already have Ke$ha…
If you haven’t seen the video, a little over a month ago Kiely Williams (from Disney’s Cheetah Girls and farther back from 3LW) posted the video to her new song called “Spectacular”. i won’t link here cuz it’s crap and just seeing it might get you an STD, but that video ended up getting pretty bad comments about how slutty she is. i mean just look at the lyrics! here’s the chorus…
“the sex was spectacular (x4)”
seriously… that’s it? that’s how she tied in the title? anyways the most CRAP part about this is the fact that people didn’t like it so she ended up posting a response explaining her song and music video. she doesn’t really place the blame on herself, instead, she takes a “don’t shoot the messenger” approach.. and that’s what i’m linking here.

so did anyone else think there was a message being told behind this? were people’s eyes opened to the serious “issue” that many women are faced with when she had spontaneous sex with that ugly man in the video? or were you all more like me and just thought Kiely was being trashy and slutty? anyways i wanted to post a comment and after working so hard to keep the rant massively short, i discovered she is screening her comments! i would too if more than half of them are going to be dissing your work. but it got me pretty bummed… really set on everyone else reading my response… so i decided to place it in my tumblr! here it is…
“so you say don’t shoot the messenger? if you really were trying to show a serious issue then i’d suggest an ending. maybe kill off your ‘character’ in the video to show it’s not autobiographical? that would’ve gotten the message across. but if you’re dancing and acting like this slut character without showing us the consequences that exist then how else do you think we’d interpret the video? did you really think that this wouldn’t come off as accepting this type of behavior? don’t know bout that…”
anyways, IMO her response? complete BS… my post? maybe not the exact truth but far more realistic than that messenger crap she’s trying to pull on us. that’s all. so to summarize, Kiely, we’re only shooting the messenger cuz you’re dodging the bullet. own up to your actions and the social commentary stops… at least that’s what happened with Britney. until then, try working the letter S into your first name… or there will be no dollar $igns for you kiddo! =(
